Pageant, written by two-time Tony nominee Bill Russell, Frank Kelly, and Seattle's very own Albert Evans, debuted Off-Broadway in 1991 at the Blue Angel in New York and puts a high-heeled drag-spin on the competitive pageant scene. The show takes the audience on a fabulous adventure into the timeless world of the Miss Glamouresse Beauty Pageant. Audiences will cheer for their favorites that include Miss West Coast, Miss Great Plains, Miss Industrial Northeast, Miss Bible Belt, Miss Texas and Miss Deep South.

Charlie Johnson - Director is a director, writer, and theater artist. His work has been seen in New York at the New York Musical Festival, FringeNYC, The Playroom Theater, The Triad, Feinstein's/54Below, Musical Theater Factory, and The Green Room 42. Recent direction: You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown ( Flat Rock Playhouse ) Plaid Tidings ( Enlightened Theatrics ), Acts on a Roof ( Uptown Players ), and HeadVoice (New York Musical Festival).  He holds assisting credits with Michael Arden, Sam Buntrock, Jerry Zucker, and David Armstrong. Regional credits include shows at Paper Mill Playhouse, The 5th Avenue Theatre, Asolo Repertory Theater, Bay Street Theater, The Maltz Jupiter Theater, and North Carolina Theater. He is writing the book for a new musical, YOUlogy, with collaborator Ethan Andersen. Charlie attended Elon University and currently resides in Washington Heights. He is most often found at the theater, yoga, or Chipotle.
